With over 20 years of experience in environmental consultancy, Michael worked as an operational Weather Forecaster and an on-site Meteorologist, providing timely and crucial weather consultancy support to critical operations worldwide. He also worked as
a MetOcean Consultant who participated in many desktop studies for offshore and marine industries to ensure operation safety and design integrity. Apart from that, Michael has helped raise weather awareness to clients by delivering many weather
seminars and workshops, so they are well informed of the weather impacts, and have relevant measures in place to mitigate weather-induced risks.</br></br>
Michael joined IBM as a Sales Engineer early in 2017, one of the earlier members of IBM weather team in APAC. Since then he has been playing an important role in assisting sales team to develop weather business in Asia Pacific, providing thought leadership in technical discussion and solutioning for clients in various industries. With his passion and expertise in weather business solutions, Michael has helped many businesses transform the ways they view and use weather, so they can start leveraging weather insights to drive positive business outcomes. Recently, Michael joined the Envizi (acquired by IBM early in 2022) team as a Senior Technical Specialist, helping organization accelerate their sustainability journey with Envizi sustainability
performance management platform.</br></br>
Michael is a Fellow of Royal Meteorological Society (RMets), and Fellow and Chartered Scientist of Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST).
