Climate Adaptation & Resilience Programs

The Department is the primary agency responsible for the conservation, management, development, and proper use of the country’s environment and natural resources, specifically forest and grazing lands, mineral resources, including those in reservation and watershed areas, and lands of the public domain, as well as the licensing and regulation of all natural resources as may be provided for by law in order to ensure equitable sharing of the benefits derived therefrom for the welfare of the present and future generations of Filipinos.

The Climate Change Service of DENR facilitates the effective and efficient integration and implementation of the Risk Resiliency Program and Risk Resiliency and Sustainability Program, among others.

The UP Resilience Institute was established as a proactive hub of benchmark innovative information vital to the nation’s efforts in climate change mitigation and adaptation. Its mission is to empower local communities through multidisciplinary actions toward resilience.

The UP NOAH Center is the core component of the UP Resilience Institute. The vital role of UP NOAH’s work is producing freely accessible, accurate, reliable, and relevant scientific disaster data. It also highlights a multidisciplinary approach in assessing risk and using the lens of different scientific areas. This ensures that Filipinos are provided an integrative appraisal of the natural hazards that put them in danger.

Komunidad is a data and analytics company focusing on climate resilience and sustainability helping governments and companies to manage climate risk and optimize for the low carbon future. In this interactive workshop, Komunidad will be presenting the results of at least 5 filled up forms to showcase how data science & efficient IT systems can quickly build climate resilient tools for Cities, Municipalities and Barangays.
